Meet Kelley Brown, LPC, LAC
We’re excited to announce the newest member of our team, Kelley Brown, LPC, LAC. We couldn’t be happier to have Kelley at our center, where she’ll be playing a dual role as a traditional psychotherapist as well as an addiction treatment specialist.
Unlike a lot of practitioners, Kelley received her calling to help people later in life.
After experiencing life-saving rehab and therapy, Kelley attended grad school in her mid-forties and discovered she had special insight into some of the unique challenges we can face in mid-life and beyond—from our children leaving or returning to the nest to career and relationship transitions like divorce and retirement.
Kelley finds that during these life transitions, people are more likely to turn to alcohol and drugs to cope and self-medicate. They’re also more likely to unknowingly abuse medication, with opioids in particular leading from normal prescription use to dependency before clients even realize it.
In her late 50’s now, Kelley’s been proudly sober for 16 years now and knows what it takes to successfully treat addiction in all its forms—including eating, shopping, and gambling. Kelley stresses there’s no magic bullet to getting better though, and it often takes a whole team of support—as well as talk therapy, education and accountability—to restore ourselves.
Whether addiction is involved with a client or not, Kelley finds that redefining our purpose and enhancing our ties to community are often the key to getting through difficult experiences and coming out happier, more grounded, and more connected to ourselves.
In addition to her general therapy work, we’re excited to add Kelley to our specialized addiction treatment programs, where she’ll work hand-in-hand with clients and families to provide a warm, nurturing, stigma-free alternative to inpatient and residential programs. The core of our program is a ten-day IV therapy regimen designed to quickly reduce cravings and help clients detox naturally without having to put the rest of their life on hold. Proper therapy and community support are essential to avoid relapse though, and that’s where Kelley and the rest of our therapy team come in to guide clients to long-term success.
If you or a loved one is struggling with mid-life challenges or addiction-related issues, you can schedule an appointment with Kelley at our office—(720)222-0550.

Applying mindfulness is easier than you might think. Jon Kabat Zinn encourages us that “maybe we just need to create a bigger arena for our thoughts.” What does that actually look like? Click the video below to find out in Zinn’s own words.
