Group therapy is a wonderful adjunctive treatment to individual work. Group therapy is helpful for people who have had therapy in the past, for people currently in therapy, and for people who have not had prior exposure to the results-oriented, healing benefits of this type of work.
In a setting with other people who suffer from similar issues, members of the group learn valuable tools to identify triggers of distress, evaluate negative thoughts and perceptions, strategize ways to deal with life’s unavoidable ups and downs, and resolve hurtful patterns of the past.
Building a support network and gaining a better understanding of yourself and others are just a few benefits of group therapy.
Group Session Schedules
- A skills group is offered twice a week (you may chose one or the other to attend) on Mondays from 6:00pm-7:30pm, and on Wednesdays from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Some of the skills you will learn are CBT, DBT, boundaries, communication, and relapse prevention.
- On Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm, we host an aftercare group. This group is a weekly check-in for individuals who have attended and completed the skills group, or who are stepping down from an intensive program.
Coming soon, we’ll be starting a weekly group for teenagers. Please call us at (720) 222-0550 for more details.
