SJ is passionate in formulating evidence-based treatment plans that are authentic to each individual patient she works with. Some of her specialties include male/female reproductive health, endocrine/thyroid treatment, nutrient optimization, and the detoxification of body systems — all of which aid in optimal wellness and a reduction of psychiatric illness.
After receiving her Bachelor’s in Nursing and Psychiatry, SJ embraced and honored the complexity of family dynamics, working in labor and delivery, women’s reproductive health, and the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) in a hospital setting for over 10 years.
SJ then followed her passion for natural birth and holistic treatment, helping women to give birth without pain medication at a free-standing birth center.
With 15 years of nursing experience, SJ decided to go back to school, graduating Magna Cum Laude at Georgetown University with a double masters in Midwifery and Women’s Primary Care. Next she continued her studies in integrative and functional medicine, learning how to help patients align their mind, body, and soul, and empowering them to make informed decisions rooted in evidence-based research.
In her free time, SJ enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters as well as her extended family which is spread out across the US and Canada. She also loves traveling throughout Mexico and Central America, hiking, reading, writing, and journaling.
