Teen Therapy & Counseling
At Ballen Medical & Wellness, Teen Therapy & Counseling or psychotherapy (also known as talk therapy or counseling) is one of our primary treatment options for helping teenagers and adolescents. It’s never been a more difficult time to be a teenager, and our goal is to help your child navigate the issues they’re facing and achieve emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Whether your child’s suffering from a mood disorder like depression or anxiety or is dealing with stress, OCD, addiction, relationship issues, or esteem issues, we’re here to help them individually as well as in the context of your greater family dynamic. Therapy for parents and families as a whole is also available at our center, and we also collaborate frequently with outside psychiatrists, therapists, and counselors.
Warm, Compassionate Therapy
We offer warm, compassionate Teen Therapy & Counseling in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. We work hard to earn your child’s trust, fostering true help, and growth for them. All treatment decisions are discussed collaboratively, though you as a parent are an ultimate authority on what types of therapy and treatment are chosen.
Trust is one of the most important keys to effective progress, so we work with both parents and teens to establish a respectful, confidential environment that fosters connection and sharing. This excludes issues of safety, which are always discussed with parents immediately.
We feature a full spectrum of help, from talk therapy to psychiatric medication when needed. Psychiatric medicine is often over-prescribed, so we’ll work with you to discuss all options and prescribe medication only when necessary. If needed, medication is often only temporarily. Communication and copings skills, proper sleep hygiene, exercise, and nutrition are often the long-term keys to managing and resolving the issues your teen and adolescent are facing.
