How Does It Work

How does it work

ALA is a naturally occurring fat- and water-soluble antioxidant which plays a significant role in several metabolic processes in the body. It is considered a “universal antioxidant” since it demonstrates antioxidant function as well as contributes to the production of other important antioxidants such as glutathione and several vitamins. Protects cells and promotes healthier skin. Has been shown to promote normal thyroid levels and can mitigate the effects of hormone induced weight gain. Can help people with type 2 diabetes by making it easier for the body to use its own insulin. May reduce nerve damage from diabetes or cancer treatment. Can help slow the aging process by reversing oxidative damage to DNA. Can reduce inflammation and improve muscle recovery time after a tough workout (try it with our athletic recovery IV treatment). For the very first infusion, ALA uptakes better if a Myers Cocktail with selenium is done first followed by the ALA and periodically throughout the treatment.
